CELTIC COMPANY is a performance troupe of Irish, Scottish & Cape Breton Step dancers who perform high-energy traditional and contemporary dances to lively music.
Founded in 2011 by Heather Morris and a core group of dancers, Celtic Company has been sharing its love of Celtic dance across the northeastern United States at every opportunity. The group rehearses on a weekly basis at Green Mountain Performing Arts in Waterbury, VT.

Do you have what it takes?
- Celtic Company members typically take 2-4 technique classes a week so troupe rehearsals can be devoted to performance material.
- They are eager to take the stage at every opportunity and show their audiences how much they love to dance.
- The majority of the members compete in Irish and/or Highland at least two times a year.
- Members aren't afraid to try new styles of dance and stretch comfort zones.
- They are organized, prepared and self motivated.
- There is no upper or lower age limit. We're looking for experience, passion and parental support, if you're a minor.
The audition:
- Sunday, June 5 from 5:00-6:30
- Master class in front of a friendly panel of judges.
- Be prepared to show a couple of steps of your favorite or best dance.
- Wear your regular class attire and make sure you have all of your dance shoes (gillies, hard shoes and/or jig shoes if applicable).
- Plan to stay for the duration of the rehearsal and plan to have fun!
The commitment:
- Weekly hour and a half rehearsals. Currently they are held on Sunday evenings in Waterbury. Next season's schedule may shift depending on participant needs.
- Weekly technique class(es) outside of Celtic Company rehearsals.
- Minimum of 4 performances a year. Some are close to home, some further afield. Your own transportation and/or carpooling is necessary.
- Enter competitions or some other option like grade exams that will challenge you to raise your standard of dance.
- Purchase a Celtic Company costume. These are in development. Details to come.
- Be a leader in your weekly classes and in this group. Positive energy and support of the task at hand are a continuous requirement.
