Hello Families,
Green Mountain Performing Arts is closing the studio effective Monday March 16th through and including April 6th in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, we will re-assess and plan accordingly. At this time, we are not canceling the musical or recital and will update if that changes. Please stay tuned to your email in the coming days to hear about the options for classes moving forward.
We have been anticipating that a studio closure was imminent and are mid-preparation in our plans for a short term closure (up to 2 to 3 weeks), medium closure (4-6 ish weeks) and longer term (8+ weeks).
Our priorities/considerations as we planned for this unprecedented potential closure include:
+Offering the dance classes we are known for and staying as connected as we can to this community that is so very important to us.
+Coming up with a plan that allows us to financially make it through this time and allow us to continue to exist in this community after this all moves through.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming days. We are thinking about our community during this time of unprecedented uncertainty. Movement and creative expression are an excellent remedy for body based stress and anxiety. We hope you can find some space in your week for it!
Best,
The Green Mountain Performing Arts Crew

March 2020 Information
We wanted to share some information about how we are being responsive to health concerns and to offer some guidance. We are currently using the guidance provided by Vermont's Health Department around responding to this public health concern. We are also closely monitoring the protocols for the local Harwood School communities as well.
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
-We have increased our routine environmental cleaning.
-We are reinforcing best health practices with students including visual and verbal reminders around hygienic practices.
-We are making hand sanitizer available to all students immediately after they get off the bus. It is also available for all students at the start of their class.
-We are monitoring our students to ensure that if anyone is sick, they are supported to go home.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
-Similar to the messages you are receiving elsewhere, we are asking that you keep students home if they are sick. Vermont's Health Department is recommending this guide to help parent and guardians make decisions. If we are concerned about your child's health- we will be asking you to come pick them up.
-We also ask that you are in communication with us if you have/recently had travel plans to/from countries impacted by travel advisories so we can develop any plans as needed.
RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES FROM VT DEPT OF HEALTH:
Please be in touch with us with any questions. As always, your child's health and safety is incredibly important to us. In a time of uncertainty, there is at least one thing that is very true!
Best,
Jenna and Katie
