KidSpark!
AfterCare Program
2020/2021
KidSpark! Aftercare program at Green Mountain Performing Arts (GMPA)
KidSpark! is designed to capitalize on participant’s natural curiosity by finding, nurturing and developing interests across the arts and STEM. This is exactly the age where kids are exploring their identity and KidSpark! is designed to enhance that process! Explore fashion design, make art from recycled materials, make inventions with springs and things, take action on a cause you care about, develop your spy skills- KidSpark! is all about giving you a chance to try new things and/or follow your passions! What is a day like at KidSpark!? Each weekday will have a different group of participants- so each day will be different! At the beginning of the year, participants will try out different activity stations and rate their interest in doing more/similar activities! This feedback will help determine what interests they will get to pursue from week to week in program. Participants will track their completion of activities and set goals to track their skill and interest development. Who will I work with at KidSpark!? Katie Decker is the Director of the KidSpark! Aftercare program at GMPA. Katie has almost 20 years of experience as an educator and administrator- most recently as Director of Centerpoint School, where she concluded a 17 year commitment to educating students with emotional and behavioral challenges. She has taught students from ages 3 all the way up to college age students across a variety of skill levels and content areas. She will get to know your kids super well, keep them safe and help them grow in their skills and self- confidence. To learn more about her, visit our faculty page.
